Deye Solar & Battery System Shutdown and Restart

Use this procedure if you have a Deye hybrid inverter with battery storage and have been asked by Sol Viva to shut down or restart your system.

Shut Down

1. Switch OFF the solar inverter AC supply

Locate the circuit breaker or isolator labelled Solar / PV / Inverter / AC and switch it OFF.

If your installation has separately labelled GRID, LOAD/EPS or GEN AC breakers associated with the Deye inverter, these must also be switched OFF as applicable to your installation.

2. Switch OFF the Deye inverter

Press the ON/OFF button on the Deye inverter to switch the inverter OFF.

3. Switch OFF the battery

Switch OFF the battery DC breaker/isolator, then switch OFF the battery using its normal external power button or switch where fitted.

Do not open the battery enclosure or disconnect any battery cables.

4. Switch OFF the solar DC supply

Turn the DC/PV switch on the Deye inverter to OFF / 0.

5. Wait 5 minutes

Leave the system OFF for at least 5 minutes before restarting.

Restart

1. Switch ON the AC breakers

Switch the appropriate GRID / LOAD / GEN / inverter AC breakers back ON.

2. Switch ON the solar and battery supplies

Turn the Deye DC/PV switch ON.

Switch the battery DC breaker/isolator ON and switch the battery ON using its normal external power button where fitted.

3. Switch ON the Deye inverter

Press the inverter ON/OFF button to switch the Deye inverter ON.

4. Allow the system to restart

Allow several minutes for the Deye inverter, battery and grid connection to initialise.

The inverter should return to normal operation automatically once its startup and grid checks have completed.

Important Safety Information

Only operate clearly identified external switches, breakers and controls.

Do not:

  • Open the inverter or battery.
  • Remove electrical covers.
  • Disconnect PV or battery cables.
  • Touch exposed wiring.
  • Operate equipment that appears damaged.
  • Repeatedly restart a system that
  • continues to report a fault.
  • Solar panels can continue producing DC electricity whenever exposed to daylight. Switching the system off does not mean that all cables and equipment are electrically safe.

In an Emergency

If you see smoke, fire, sparking, a burning smell, unusual heat, damaged equipment or water entering electrical equipment, do not attempt a normal reset.

Keep away from the equipment and contact the emergency services where appropriate.

Still Having Problems?

If your Deye system does not return to normal operation after the restart, do not repeatedly reset it.

Contact Sol Viva and send us:

  • A photograph of the Deye inverter display.
  • The fault/error code shown.
  • A photograph of the battery.
  • A brief description of what happened before the fault occurred.
  • This will help us diagnose the problem and advise you on the next step.

Note: Deye produces several inverter and battery configurations. This guide is intended as a general customer procedure for Deye hybrid solar and battery systems. Where the equipment manufacturer's instructions or the system-specific instructions supplied with your installation differ, those instructions should be followed.
