Huawei Solar & Battery System Shutdown and Restart

Use this procedure if you have a Huawei hybrid inverter with battery storage and you need to shut down or restart your system.

Shut Down

1. Switch OFF the solar inverter AC supply

Locate the AC breaker or isolator associated with the Huawei SUN2000 inverter and switch it OFF.

It may be labelled:

- Solar / PV
- Inverter
- SUN2000
- PV AC
- Solar AC

Only operate a breaker or isolator that is clearly identified as belonging to the solar system.

2. Switch OFF the Huawei inverter

Go to the inverter.

Locate the rotary ON/OFF switch typically marked “ON / OFF / DC INPUT” on the inverter.

Turn this switch to OFF.

This switch controls the DC input from the solar panels. It is not the battery switch.

3. Switch OFF the battery

Now go to the Huawei battery.

Switch OFF the battery using the battery's own DC ON / OFF switch.

Turn this switch to OFF.

4. Wait 5 minutes

Leave the system OFF for at least 5 minutes before restarting.

Restart

1. Switch ON the LUNA2000 battery

Switch the LUNA2000 battery back ON using its own battery DC switch/control.

2. Switch ON the inverter

Go to the inverter.

Turn the rotary switch marked “DC INPUT” to ON.

Remember: this is the solar PV DC input, not the battery switch.

3. Switch ON the inverter AC supply

Switch the Solar / PV / Inverter AC breaker or isolator ON.

4. Allow the system to restart

Allow several minutes for the inverter and battery to initialise and for the inverter to complete its grid checks.

The system should then return to normal operation automatically when operating conditions allow.

Important Safety Information

Only operate clearly identified external switches, breakers and controls.

Do not open the inverter, battery or electrical enclosures. Do not disconnect PV or battery cables.

If you cannot clearly identify a switch or breaker, stop and contact Sol Viva for assistance.

If there is smoke, fire, sparking, a burning smell, unusual heat, damaged equipment or water entering electrical equipment, do not use this reset procedure. Keep away from the equipment and contact the emergency services where appropriate.

Solar panels can continue producing DC electricity whenever exposed to daylight, even when the inverter has been switched off.

Example images shown on this page are for identification purposes only. Your installation and labelling may differ.

Still Having Problems?

If your Deye system does not return to normal operation after the restart, do not repeatedly reset it.

Contact Sol Viva and send us:

  • A photograph of the Deye inverter display.
  • The fault/error code shown.
  • A photograph of the battery.
  • A brief description of what happened before the fault occurred.
  • This will help us diagnose the problem and advise you on the next step.

Note: Deye produces several inverter and battery configurations. This guide is intended as a general customer procedure for Deye hybrid solar and battery systems. Where the equipment manufacturer's instructions or the system-specific instructions supplied with your installation differ, those instructions should be followed
