If your equipment isn't listed in our guides, or you're not sure which system you have, don't guess.
Sol Viva can help you identify your system and tell you which shutdown or restart procedure to follow.
Before Switching Anything Off
Unless you have already been given instructions specific to your system, do not start switching breakers, isolators or equipment OFF simply to try to reset the system.
Different installations can have different:
- Inverter controls
- Solar PV/DC isolators
- Battery switches and breakers
- AC supplies
- Backup or EPS circuits
- Changeover equipment
Using the wrong sequence may prevent the system restarting correctly and, depending on the installation, could interrupt power to parts of your property.
Send Us a Few Photos
To help us identify your system, send Sol Viva clear photographs of:
1. Your solar inverter
Take a photograph showing the complete front of the inverter, including the manufacturer's name and model if visible.
2. Your battery if you have one
Take a photograph showing the complete battery system and any switches or controls around it.
3. Your solar electrical board
Take a clear photograph showing the breakers and, importantly, their labels.
4. Any error message
If the inverter, battery or monitoring app is showing an error or warning, send us a photograph or screenshot.
Please don't remove any covers
We only need photographs of equipment and controls that are normally visible and accessible.
Do not open the inverter, battery or electrical equipment, remove covers or touch exposed wiring to take a photograph.
What Happens Next?
Once we've identified your equipment, we can advise you which Sol Viva shutdown and restart guide applies or provide instructions appropriate to your system.
This is safer than trying to apply instructions intended for a different inverter or battery.
Is This an Emergency?
If there is smoke, fire, sparking, a burning smell, unusual heat, damaged equipment, exposed wiring or water entering electrical equipment, do not attempt a normal system reset.
Keep away from the equipment and contact the emergency services where appropriate.
Solar panels can continue producing DC electricity whenever exposed to daylight, so switching off a breaker or inverter does not necessarily mean that every part of the solar installation is electrically safe.
